Sadly, some people still believe that custom orthotics can fit into any shoe they already possess. Not so – in fact, the shoes previously worn might even have been part of the original problem. It’s important to partner a new orthotic with a shoe that fits properly; one that offers the level of support necessary for the orthotic to work as well as you’d expect.
Orthotics may be made to fit in certain types of shoe; say for regular runners or keen weekend hikers. Some are full length, others three-quarters or half. So, it’s important to carefully listen to the advice from your pedorthist about fitting and using your custom orthotics. It’s advice we always offer here at PTI Orthotics.
