What is plantar fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain that is caused when a band of tissue that connects the heel to your toes becomes inflamed. This causes shooting pain at the bottom of your heel, usually occurring in the beginning of the day. The pain can also be caused by increased standing or immediately when you stand up after sitting for a long period of time.

The most common cause of plantar fasciitis is age, with it occurring often in people ages 40 to 75.

Custom orthotics can greatly help plantar fasciitis by alleviating pain by reducing the strain on your heel and expediting the healing process.
